Abstract

Pragmatic studies can be related to the use of language forms, as when communicating needs requires language. In communication, there is another speaker to support the communication itself. Communication has a certain purpose, which is called an illocutionary speech act. The writer raised this research because communication always has a purpose, like in the conversation between Pak RT and Bu RT in Dusun Mloko Jatiyoso on the whatsapp group application, because in the conversation there are found the forms, functions of illocutionary speech acts, and their implications for learning Indonesian in Junior High School. Therefore, this study aims to: (1) describe the form of illocutionary speech acts in the conversation between Pak RT and Bu RT in Dusun Mloko Jatiyoso on the WhatsApp group application. (2) Describe the function of illocutionary speech acts in the conversation between Pak RT and Bu RT in Dusun Mloko Jatiyoso on the WhatsApp group application. Formulate the implications of illocutionary speech acts on Indonesian learning in Junior High School. This research is qualitative research and uses the descriptive qualitative research method. The study of the design in this research is based on obtaining research data and describing the data that has been obtained. The object of this research is to the form and function of illocutionary speech acts in the conversation between Pak RT and Bu RT in Dusun Mloko Jatiyoso on the WhatsApp group application. The subject used is the language used in the conversation. The data of this study were obtained from the conversations between Pak RT and Bu RT, whereas the source of the data was obtained from the WhatsApp group of neighborhood 01/10. The data collection techniques that were used by the writer are listening techniques and note-taking techniques. Based on the results of the analysis, the researchers found 4 forms of illocutionary speech acts, such as assertive speech, speech, directive, commissive speech, and expressive speech. In this study, the declarative speech was not found. From the 4 forms of illocutionary speech acts, there are 24 speech functions, namely the assertive function of stating (1 data), informing (7 data), and asking function (3 data). The directive functions are commanding (5 data), requesting (1 data), inviting (2 data), and requesting (1 data). The commissive function offers (1 data), the expressive function apologizes (2 data) and the thanking function (1 data). It could be the implications for learning Indonesian in junior high school.
