Abstract
This study aims to describe 1) the strategies of PPKn teachers in shaping religious and creative characters in students at the Surakarta Batik Junior High School, 2) the teacher's role in inculcating religious and creative characters in students at the Surakarta Batik Junior High School, 3) the obstacles and solutions faced by teachers in forming religious and creative characters in students at SMP Batik Surakarta. This research uses descriptive qualitative method. Collecting data using interviews, observation, and documentation. Triangulation of data using triangulation of data sources and triangulation of data collection techniques, and triangulation of time. The results of this study indicate that the learning strategies of Civics teachers in shaping religious and creative characters in SMP Batik Surakarta students are carried out by habituation and understanding with good habituation and clear understanding can form good religious and creative characters. Constraints experienced by teachers are obstacles that are often faced by teachers in shaping these characters, especially from the child's own factor, indeed from the beginning basically children have bad characters, which are caused by lack of education from parents. The solution to these obstacles is that teachers are assisted by parents at home so that they can be educated properly, and things that schools can do by doing activities related to religious and creative.
