Abstract

Hypertension that is not well controlled can lead to an increased risk of complications in patients with hypertension, including heart failure, retinopathy, atherosclerosis, left ventricular hypertrophy, and stroke caused by an increase in the demand for the heart and the arterial system in the blood vessels. The high prevalence of advanced PTM (Non-Communicable Diseases) due to hypertension that occurs in the community is due to the low level of public knowledge regarding hypertension. This study aims to determine the level of knowledge of the risk of complications in patients with hypertension at the Pajang Health Center Surakarta. This type of research is a quantitative research with descriptive method. The population of this study was outpatient hypertension patients in the work area of Pajang Health Center Surakarta with a sample of 90 respondents. The sampling method used non-probability sampling method using purposive sampling technique based on the questionnaire category. The results showed that the level of knowledge about the risk of complications experienced by hypertensive patients had good knowledge. enough and 1 respondent (1.1%) with a low level of knowledge.
