Abstract

Selogiri District is an administrative area of Wonogiri Regency which has relatively flat area conditions and the land is widely used for rice farming covering an area of 45% of the total area of Selogiri District. The large potential of lowland rice agricultural land in Selogiri District does not necessarily create stability in rice production. This is because not all paddy fields have the same land potential. This study aims to: (1) analyze the potential of lowland rice land in Selogiri District, Wonogiri Regency based on the Land Potential Index. (2) Analyzing the potential distribution of lowland rice agricultural land based on the Land Potential Index in Selogiri District, Wonogiri Regency. The method used in this research is the field field to determine the paddy field agricultural land based on the parameters of the Land Potential Index, such as slope, lithology, soil type, hydrology and disaster vulnerability. The results showed that the paddy fields in Selogiri District had 4 classes of Land Potential Index (IPL), namely the high class area of 1,501 Ha (57%), the medium class area of 398 Ha (15%), the low class area of 509 Ha (19%) and very low class area of 209 Ha (9%). The distribution of the IPL class in the middle to the north is dominated by the IPL class and while the IPL class is low and very low in the south. Analysis related to IPL is important for regional planning so that the land used is in accordance with its potential.
