Abstract

The Covid-19 disaster has an impact on the economy of the world community, especially Indonesia. The government's policy to suppress the expansion of the Covid-19 virus by limiting mobility outside the home has an impact on people who work on a daily salary system. Zakat institutions need a quick response to overcome these problems. The author uses the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method to find out the role of zakat institutions in handling Covid-19 as a whole by using the Publish Or Perish (POP) search engine with the keywords on Google Scholar "zakat" AND "covid-19"; from Scopus with the keywords “zakat” OR “islamic social finance” AND “covid” Crossref uses the keywords “zakat” AND “covid” AND “Indonesia” in the period 2019-2021. The results of this study have many roles for private Amil Zakat Institutions (LAZ) and the National Amil Zakat Agency (BAZNAS) from the center to the regions by providing educational assistance, health assistance, masks, hand sanitizers, basic necessities, capital assistance for business actors, and as well as worker training. The author's suggestion for this research is that LAZ and BAZNAS maintain the distribution of zakat, infaq, and alms to parties affected by the Covid-19 disaster in order to help restore economic conditions, health, and education.
