Abstract

Pregnant women during the Covid-19 pandemic experienced difficulties and limitations in participating in health services for pregnant women, one of which was the Pregnant Women Class. Some areas can carry out Maternity Classes by considering the status of the area which is declared safe by complying with health protocols, so that mothers can take Maternity Classes. The experience gained by mothers in taking classes for pregnant women during the pandemic is of course different from the implementation of classes for pregnant women in the period before the pandemic. The purpose of this study was to determine the mother's experience with the class of pregnant women during the COVID-19 pandemic. This study uses qualitative research methods with a generic qualitative research approach. Data collection was carried out by structured interviews using interview guidelines and pilot interviews. Informants who participated in the study were 6 pregnant women who took classes for pregnant women during the COVID-19 pandemic. The results of the interviews were processed and analyzed using thematic analysis method. The results and conclusions of the study are that, 1) midwives have a high value in the community which is characterized by being a reliable source of information and good quality of service provided to the community. 2) the impact of the pandemic on mothers who during their pregnancy experience anxiety and worry. 3) factors that support mother's participation in taking classes for pregnant women during the pandemic include learning motivation, peer group support, online consultation, and guaranteed health protocols, while factors that hinder mother's participation in taking classes for pregnant women during the pandemic are the COVID-19 outbreak. also have an impact on changing the class schedule for pregnant women.
