Abstract

Abstrat This study aims to determine the value of the Plane of Array Irradiance received by the photovoltaic array and the electrical power generated by the Photovoltaics system when given variations in the types of Mono-c-Si, Multi-c-Si, and Thin Film materials on the roof of the building using System Advisor software. Models (SAM). This study begins by measuring the roof area of the “H” building, Faculty of Engineering, University of Muhammadiyah Surakarta using “Google Earth” and downloading the solar radiation intensity data for the “H” building area from the PVGIS website. The next step is to enter the data that has been obtained into the SAM software and then determine the appropriate PV and inverter configurations to be simulated. From the simulation results, Multi-c-Si, Mono-c-Si, Thin Film sequentially received a total plane of array (PoA) irradiance intensity in one year of 267302.3 kWh, 193146.1 kWh, 286774.6 kWh and produced electric power of 30803.42 kWh, 22027.17 kWh, 31690.28 kWh. This shows that the materials used in photovoltaics arrays affect the intensity of solar radiation received.
