Abstract
Developments in the city area make residential land space reduced and increased population growth can cause many environmental problems, one of the environmental problems that very often occur is the decline in the quality of settlements. Laweyan District is one of the districts that are densely populated in Surakarta City so that this problem can be easily found and will affect public health conditions. This research aims: (1) Conducting an analysis of the level of distribution of the quality of settlements in Laweyan District of Surakarta City; (2) Conducting an analysis of the level of distribution of public health conditions in Laweyan District of Surakarta City; (3) Conducting an analysis of the quality of settlements with public health conditions in Laweyan District. The method used in this study is overlay to create a map of the distribution of settlement quality and distribution of public health conditions. In this study also used several parameters including settlement density, building layout patterns, vegetation density, entrance width, entrance conditions, settlement location, drinking water quality, sanitation, landfills and rainwater and sewage channels. The result of this study is a map of the relationship of the quality of settlements with public health conditions where the largest classification is in the skin of medium settlements and moderate public health conditions with 24%.
