Abstract

The declining economic conditions during the Islamic pandemic have a role in improving the community's economy. Through the MUI Fatwa in 2020 No. 23 regarding the use of zakat, infaq, and alms (ZIS) to overcome the Covid-19 outbreak and the impact of this. LAZISMU Surakarta is one of the institutions that manages ZIS funds in Surakarta City. The purpose of this study was to find out how the economic condition of the people of Surakarta City during the pandemic and to find out LAZISMU's strategy to implement its role in improving the economy of the people of Surakarta City during the pandemic. This type of research is field research, while the approach used is qualitative. The place that became the source of data in this study was the office of the Muhammadiyah Amil Zakat Institution (LAZISMU) Surakarta City. There are two research sources used, namely primary data and secondary data. Data collection techniques used in this study are interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was in the form of a qualitative descriptive method. The results of the study show that the economy of the people of Surakarta during the pandemic is very worrying, because with this outbreak the economy of the people has experienced a very significant decline. LAZISMU Surakarta plays a very important role in improving the community's economy during the pandemic. LAZISMU has made a lot of new programs in which the program is devoted to helping improve the community's economy during the pandemic. Thus, LAZISMU Surakarta plays a major role in helping improve the economy of the Surakarta community during the pandemic.
